Kenyon Playwrights Conference in The Dramatists Guild
May 15, 2017
What’s it like to spend a week at the Kenyon Playwrights Conference? The Dramatists Guild’s The Dramatist magazine wanted to know — and invited Artistic Director Wendy MacLeod to offer a glimpse into our week-long writing intensive. Her article and an array of photos of rehearsals, classes, and more appeared as the centerpiece of the May-June issue.
The Kenyon Playwrights Conference brings together three US/UK theatres, their literary managers or artistic directors, the three playwrights they’ve commissioned, and fifty workshop students, for a writing intensive week in June. Playwright Kirk Lynn said it best when he called it: “a community of writers finding our way together.” This summer we’ll be hosting playwrights and literary managers from Roundabout Theatre in New York, the Old Vic in London, and ACT in Seattle so that they can nurture new plays away from the distractions of critics and ticket sales.‹ Back to News
